B&W
B&W is committed to providing a quality product at a fair price with the best possible service.

It has been said that to know where you are going you must remember where you have been. With a company that is over 60 years old, we know this. That is why our past is so precious to us.

In 1946, William Becton and W.H. Westbrooks established B&W. Our company began as a grocery store nestled in the town square in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. It remained there until 1963, at that time it was moved down the street from the square. In 1985, Phil Watts bought the company from its owner and former mayor of Murfreesboro, W.H. Westbrooks.

Under the guidance of Phil Watts and his mentor, Art Cranker, B&W had a 300% increase in sales. With that increase came a lack of storage space. This forced the company to move again in 1988 to its Northwest Broad Street location. Twelve years later, the company was again running out of room due to growth. In March 2001, B&W's lack of storage space made local headlines. Moving into a facility that was once owned by the Singer Sewing Machine Company gave B&W the space it needed for continued growth.

In 1991, B&W became middle Tennessee's largest candy and tobacco distributor. In 1996, B&W was ranked 55th in Greater Nashville's Top 100 privately owned companies. That same year Phil Watts was nominated for Executive of the Year by the Nashville Business Journal.

B&W currently employs over 100 people and conducts business in numerous states. The company continues to grow in all aspects. B&W will continue as it has for over five decades, and will never forget its humble beginning.
